Sticky vs. Step
A Coaching Power Tool By Leslie Ford
Education Coach, UNITED STATES
Sticky vs. Step Power tools allow us to expand our thinking, question our beliefs and mindsets, and generate new learning. Clifton’s moving poem reminds us that, like a river, we are constantly churning and flowing toward our goal. Because we are creatures capable of learning, growing, and becoming, our thoughts, beliefs, and prior experiences tell us, but do not fully explain us. Personal learning is an invitation to learn about yourself or others in a whole new light when using these power tools. As you use them, take the time to read, apply, and reflect.
Power of the Pause: Turning Time Forward
A Research Paper By Maya Dreifus
Career Coach, UNITED STATES
There is little doubt that pausing generates space, according to the research mentioned. It creates opportunities for meaningful outcomes that were not possible when the limbic system was in charge. Pausing gives you the space and time to reconsider your decision. One in which we will not look back and wish we could go back in time. “Sometimes you need to press pause to let everything soak in,” says Sebastian Vettel, a German motorsport racing driver. So, the next time you’re feeling overwhelmed, pressured, or as if you have too much on your plate…pause.
PULSE
A Coaching Model By Leslie Ford
Education Coach, UNITED STATES
The PULSE model incorporates design thinking principles to produce a tool that allows managers and those seeking leadership positions to improve their skills while addressing real-world problems in their school or district. Practical thinkers are those who manage people, chair or sit on committees or sit with decision-makers. They are looking for a method or system that will allow them to think through multi-layer challenges with stakeholders with different agendas while working with a limited number of people, time, place, and money to achieve a desired amount of change. Succeeding the implementation of this Developmental Coaching paradigm, PULSE recognizes both the immediate need for efficiency and incorporates double-loop learning through a regular reflection.
Your Inner Critic: A Cautionary Tale
A Research Paper By Parbatie Khan
Transformational Coach, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO
“An inner critic is a voice that judges, criticizes, or demeans a person whether the self-criticism is objectively justified or not.” (2015, Good Therapy) “The ideas that are making them (clients) unpleasant and exposing them to situations they avoid because of unfounded concerns,” says Albert Ellis (2002). This inner voice manifests as thoughts; an internal dialogue we have with ourselves, a “nagging” voice that weakens our capacity to exhibit strength, and courage, seek new goals, make new relationships, and become the person we wish to be. If left unchecked, a strong inner critic can do long-term damage to an individual’s mental stability and self-esteem.

A Research Paper By Annabella Da Encarnacao
Leadership Coach, GERMANY
My coaching approach focuses on being your true self in the workplace as an individual. Gabriela Krupa is an experienced organization coach who focuses on “purposeful self-organization for business and authentic workplaces,” according to her website. Gabriela has worked for the Energized self-management consulting firm and now helps me with my own work on the road to self-management. Although an increasing number of people aspire to live a healthy lifestyle at work, few businesses are willing to take the risk. The main focus of this talk is on a company level: what does authenticity mean to them, what is the process of introducing authenticity to the workplace, and, of course, what are the challenges and rewards of doing so.
Zoom Out Zoom In
A Coaching Model By Debbie Wissel
Career Coach, UNITED STATES
My high school-aged sister gave me some wise advice when I was in middle school, which served as inspiration for this coaching concept. ‘This stuff doesn’t important, just try to be like a bird… soar beyond everything’ Katie added. ‘See the forest among the trees,’ her bird simile paid homage to many others. I update my Coaching Model with a 2020 twist, using a soaring bird as inspiration. The idea for soaring above an issue will be called in this case, ‘Zooming Out,’ given we are all on Zoom calls during COVID. In the rest of the article, I’ll explain my ‘Zoom Out Zoom In’ Coaching model, which is the source of my coaching inspiration.
