The 5M Coaching Model
A Coaching Model By Paul Crabtree
Positive Attitude Coach, UNITED KINGDOM
The 5M coaching model is based on human motivation and behavior change, specifically the concept of flow developed by Hungarian psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. This model also includes a strong journaling and documenting style that keeps the client accountable and the process in check. It also has a foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology, especially since it aims to combat the self-talk brought on by cognitive distortions. As with all coaching methods, it supports clients in the ways they want to change by empowering choice and raising awareness. The Goldilocks zone of a suitable challenge to achieve goals and feel good about oneself is the foundation of the 5M coaching model, which takes a deep dive into the “who” of the individual.

From Should vs. Good
A Coaching Power Tool By Paul Crabtree
Positive Attitude Coach, UNITED KINGDOM
This Power Tool is called “From Should vs. Good” and it retrains your brain to produce positive results by stopping negative self-talk. Statements beginning with the word “should” are an illustration of cognitive distortions, erroneous thoughts, and beliefs that we all hold in some shape or form. They could also be referred to as negative thought patterns and may have developed as a survival mechanism. They persist throughout time and, for those who experience them severely, are linked to depressive disorders, anxiety, and low self-esteem. On “Should” expressions, this paper will concentrate. Every one of the acknowledged distortions has a unique toolkit and recommended framework for rectification. Statements beginning with “should” and those that also contain “ought” and “must” are perceived as distortions and a sort of self-punishment.

Failure vs. Lesson
A Coaching Power Tool By Alex Chu
Transformational Coach, TAIWAN
The “Failure vs. Lesson” power tool can assist in changing our perspective from one that is disempowering to one that will keep us on course for ongoing improvement and growth. We now live in a rapidly evolving world where changes are occurring at a rate that has never been seen before. To adapt, we must learn to make mistakes and correct them quickly. Most failures present wonderful opportunities to learn about who we are and what we want in life. Following the client’s identification of this disempowering “Failure” attitude, we encourage the client to adopt a “Lesson” perspective and evaluate the potential outcomes they can derive from the events they previously viewed as failures.
