Recognizing when the pursuit of perfection becomes the primary motivator of our actions or attitudes is the first step toward shifting our perspective from Wholeness vs. Perfection. We can begin by answering the question, “What causes you to act in a certain way?” To achieve that level of clarity. What motivates this behavior? What do you feel or think as this behavior occurs? It’s time to reconsider our current viewpoint and consider what other options might exist if we’re willing to commit to doing so. Being surrounded by other young coaches has taught me that many of us strive for perfection out of a sense of inadequacy.
