Why do we keep our belongings after decluttering and home organisation? Hope for change, guilt or duty, obligation, anxiety about a future need, memories, unchecked consumer urges or habits, excessive attachment, childhood poverty, hesitancy, grief, and so on. Clutter can have an impact on our cognition, behavior, emotions, and relationships. Clutter can also cause sleep problems, stress, anxiety, a lack of productivity, shame, fire hazards, dust-related respiratory problems, overeating, and other health and safety issues. The best results come from a well-balanced combination of coaching and home organization. Building trust with the client requires empathy, letting go of judgment, and acknowledgment.
