The Role of Coaching in Tackling Procrastination
A Research Paper By Heather Prentice Schmidt,
Empowerment Coach, CANADA
Procrastination is traditionally defined as “putting off intentionally the doing of something that should be done.” One common misconception is that people who procrastinate do so consciously, either out of weakness, laziness, or another character flaw. Chronic procrastinators are often told that the solution to their woes is to adopt the Nike slogan “Just do it! ” Regardless of the reasons, root causes, or psychology behind procrastination, the only real solution is action. When dealing with the emotional pain of persistent procrastination, this fact is easier said than done.

School Staff Wellbeing
A Research Paper By Alison Mitchell
Leadership Coach, NETHERLANDS
In this paper on school staff wellbeing, I’ll discuss some of the problems that schools currently face around the world, such as issues with staff retention and recruitment as well as low engagement in various educational systems. I’ll introduce the idea of having a distinct framework for well-being in schools, in this case, the PROSPER model, after briefly defining positive psychology and well-being. I will then go on to show ways in which coaching in schools could help develop and sustain this framework to embed a positive culture, focused on the well-being of the school staff. This essay’s main concern is adults who work in educational settings. The framework can also be used to emphasize the welfare of the students.
