Typically, when someone goes to a therapist the first thing that will happen is some level of diagnosis looking for disorder or dysfunction such as anxiety or depression and the whole purpose of that mental health is to bring that client up to a place of functioning so from dysfunction to functioning. Now, in coaching, we see our clients as fully capable to create whatever goal they have in mind. So, in coaching we are coming from a place of functioning from the very beginning a place of exceptional. Mental health is dysfunction to functioning and coaching is functioning to exceptional.
It is the way that we view our clients as we just said that they are fully capable to create whatever goal, that they have. Often, a coaching client will have a barrier that is in their pathway to achieve their goal and what we’ll do through coaching, is to help them to reframe their perspective or to move beyond that barrier into success.
