What is A Structure?
It’s not the kind of structure that makes you feel confined or limited. It’s the kind of structure, like the walls in your house, that allow you to stay free of the elements. It’s your TO DO list which help you make your commitment a reality. Structures really help us in those areas where we find it difficult to stay on track.
What Does It Look Like?
For example, you have a commitment to healthy eating. What structures would you put in place to make sure you eat healthy, because it can be pretty challenging? First, you might create a shopping list. You might need time to shop at the right store so you can get your healthy foods. You might make a plan that on Sundays, you cook for the week. That’s a structure. It helps you do something that you would otherwise find pretty challenging. This is where a coach can really help.
Coaching & Structures
The coach can help brainstorm with you, co-create those structures. When the structure needs to be fine tuned or re-aligned, the coach can help you get out of that pattern and find a new way to stay committed to your goals. It works when those goals require a certain measure of persistence on your part.
Creating structures allows you freedom to keep your commitments to yourself and others.
