CP04: Releasing Judgement
Like many words in English, the Oxford English Dictionary lists a number of definitions for the word “judgement”. One of the definitions is “discernment, good sense”. Further down, however, another definition is “criticism, against what one really feels to be advisable.” The first definition of judgement is more about using your intuition to make a decision. The second definition is crippling. It is this notion of judgement that we are going to explore, looking at the impact it has on our coaching work.
Judgement destroys a trusting space quicker than anything else. It closes people off at a time when they need to open up.
