Chicago, US
Staff, Students and Graduates met in Chicago for a fantastic weekend, with lots of sharing and laughing. Many of our staff speak to each other weekly, if not daily, and have worked together for many many years. But, this was the first time they have actually met each other in person. The weekend began with a staff dinner on Friday night, sightseeing around Chicago via the 'hop on, hop off bus' and then a meet up with Students and Graduates on Saturday afternoon.
Cloe Blanchet (Online Marketing) and Sally Bridger (Business Manager) traveled 9692 miles for the meet up, all the way from Australia to Chicago. They also bought their own Australian gifts to share - Vegemite, Tim Tams and Musk Lifesavers. The look on Lorna Poole's face suggests it might have been better if US customs had confiscated the Musk Life Savers and Vegemite! Visit the ICA Facebook page for more photo's of these great meet ups.
Shenzhen, China
Trainers and students from southern China including Pin Hsuan Chen, PCC (ICA Program Director, Chinese), Sunny Xiao (ICA Production team) met in the Shenzhen Book City Aster Teahouse for a face to face get together. The ICA team shared the new ICA Power Tools pouches. These were created by ICA team member Ana Locsin, and made from recycled Tarpaulins in the Philipines. Each one represents one of the ICA Power tools. There was much laughter and discussion as the group picked their favourite power tool and pouch.
For Chinese speaking students, keep an eye on your inbox or on wechat to find out when the next event will be. Or, register your interest here, and we will make sure to update you.
Dubai, UAE
Robyn Logan (CEO) together with a group of amazing ICA students and graduates met at the Jumeriah Beach Hotel, overlooking the magnificent Dubai skyline, for drinks and a great few hours of chatter. There was great excitement for this spur of the moment gathering. Robyn was on her way to Europe and after chatting to Kyla Neil earlier in the week, decided to organise an quick catch up. And, perfect timing as the group got to celebrate Samar Naim's graduation from her ICA program, in person! Come back soon Robyn, maybe for our first ICF Conference in the Middle East in November. Thanks to Kyla Neil for organising such a great event!
