The concepts of change management as a driving force for progress form the foundation of the coaching power tool “Resistance vs. Change.” When I think back on my own coaching sessions, there have been several occasions when I have seen a client change their thinking. It’s amazing to watch them go through the transition on their own, and it’s satisfying for a coach to witness the effect coaching has on people. Implementing a change approach in a coaching setting can be very helpful when dealing with resistance. The first step in inspiring someone to accept change and take responsibility for finding the knowledge they need to advance is helping them become aware of what is holding them back.
