This event can leave a job seeker with feelings of fear, anxiety, and procrastination, and sometimes anger if they felt that the situation was unfair. I have worked with hundreds of students and clients since 2012 who stayed focused and motivated on what they could control, and the feelings of uncertainty and fear slowly dissipated and they felt more in control and confident and they eventually landed that new job or promotion. Working with a Career Coach can help clients effectively navigate their job search by focusing on the areas of the job search that clients do have control over. This issue can help clients move from uncertainty and fear to control and confidence.

Thus, we will work with clients on considering their many different selves, so they can see that they are the container for all of these ‘selves and, thus, behave more flexibly. Flexibility is fundamental to our client’s success in dealing with the challenges they are facing.

When we ignore our needs and feelings because we focus all our attention and energy on other things, we run the risk of emotions and behaviors that we cannot adapt to. Although it applies to all human beings, we would like to focus in this paper Disregard vs. Acknowledge on how it impacts caregivers and propose a different perspective. If caregivers are not aware of their role and do not care about their needs and feelings, they may be like unattended yards. Some caregivers have that awareness and develop strategies to take care of the patient in the best way they can while also taking care of themselves. They build support structures, ask for help, and work on their skills and knowledge.
