In order to keep the best parts of the past while no longer feeling constrained, I propose using the coaching technique of “Attachment vs. Appreciation Power Tool” to replace a limiting attachment perspective. Everybody’s life will eventually undergo changes, and life itself is in a constant state of flux. It can be positive or negative, instantaneous or gradual, sudden and unforeseeable, or planned and meticulously executed. It can be easy, like changing jobs, or difficult and important, like rebuilding your life after a divorce.
