A Research Paper By Alison Mitchell
Leadership Coach, NETHERLANDS
In this paper on school staff wellbeing, I’ll discuss some of the problems that schools currently face around the world, such as issues with staff retention and recruitment as well as low engagement in various educational systems. I’ll introduce the idea of having a distinct framework for well-being in schools, in this case, the PROSPER model, after briefly defining positive psychology and well-being. I will then go on to show ways in which coaching in schools could help develop and sustain this framework to embed a positive culture, focused on the well-being of the school staff. This essay’s main concern is adults who work in educational settings. The framework can also be used to emphasize the welfare of the students.
