Theology, psychology, sociology, and philosophy have all explored self-acceptance. Since Buddha’s teachings over two thousand years ago, the importance of self-acceptance has been highly debated. Modern psychological theories, therapeutic approaches, and contemporary literature, all contribute to the study of acceptance. Coaching, with its philosophy of assisting clients’ self-awareness and progress, is well-positioned to contribute to these ideas by promoting the value and practice of self-acceptance as it relates to the journey of personal enlightenment and transformation.
