In today’s increasingly virtualized world, where many people communicate with people from different cultures on a regular basis in start-ups, companies, and digital nomad lifestyles, the power tool “Control vs. Humility” is used by coaches to assist their clients. To better serve both ourselves in our profession and our clients, how can we adapt to cultural attitudes on power and responsibility? The important thing is to be conscious, so that we can “coach the person, not the story” and assist our clients in finding new possibilities and shifting to new views in the most natural, appropriate manner.
