When explaining the problem, the client will frequently allude to a previous scenario or depict it as a recurring pattern in their life or at work, with similar effects. We are then confronted with the cycle in which the client is caught, and we want to help the client move on, even if we mistakenly touch on experience to better understand the cycle, the triggers, and the thought patterns. There are a number of ways to help clients break the cycle, but one that I’ve found very useful is a power tool I call Assumption vs. Reality.

Leadership coach approach, when a new team leader in a company thinks he is smarter and wiser than his team members, he should reconsider his perspective. If you have a hierarchical approach to leadership, where I am better than you, for example, that is not how leadership will be regarded in the future. People want to work in an environment where the boss is also a coach. This idea means that people will believe that their leaders have the ability to allow space for the client to find a solution rather than providing a solution. Leaders assist new employees in developing themselves by providing space and asking strange questions.

Fear vs. Curiosity

After years of avoiding this phobia, as part of my coaching studies, I had the opportunity to face it again. I had to do multiple writing assignments (including this Fear vs. Curiosity), and old fears surfaced in a similar way to when I was a kid twenty years ago. Tension, anxiety, and anxiety are all symptoms of fear. In the end, instead of letting these feelings dominate me, I gave them space and observed them from a curious neutral dimension. Curiosity allowed me to view terror from a new perspective.
