How did you find Coaching?
After years as a successful manager in the corporate world I realized that what I loved most about my job was the opportunity to coach and develop others to reach their true potential.
I did my homework and found that the role I was looking for was that of an executive coach. I could work with managers and leaders and help them to achieve their goals.
I was fortunate to be able to get a position as a coach for managers and leaders in a large financial services company and coached hundreds of individuals over a 2 1/2 year period and used this experience as a springboard to open my own executive coaching business. I love what I do especially having a positive impact of the lives and careers of others.
How are you using coaching to make a difference?
I was recently contacted by an old associate who is working with Moms in a grass roots organization to help them re-enter the business world by starting their own business. They asked me to do a teleconference for one of their first meetings. I created a presentation on Building your Business Self Confidence which was well received and was an opportunity for me to give back to others. I look forward to having other opportunities to give back in my practice.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at ICA?
I looked at many schools before choosing ICA and chose them because of the program flexibility as well as the ongoing access to a community of coaches that were in disciplines other than my own. I am personally benefiting from the class discussion as well as the peer coaching I give and receive. Every day I learn new ideas, techniques and strategies that I am able to incorporate into my own practice. As a coach and a life long learner; joining ICA was one of the best decision I have ever made!
