My interest in coaching came about as I worked on my own inner self development.
In 2006, my husband and I embarked on a series of self development seminars that changed how we lived our lives. In the final seminar of the series we experienced weekly group coaching for a period of 3 months. I loved it! So, after I completed the my own seminar experience, I volunteered to coach one of the new teams. I received training through this company and, after my experience with them was done, knew that I wanted to have coaching in my life. I wanted to coach all the time. I loved it! I love the experience of seeing or hearing someone come to that moment when their perspectives shift and their life changes for the better. In those moments, I know that I have supported someone on the road to achieving their dreams! How cool is that!
How are you using coaching to make a difference?
I have created a tele-conference community that supports people in discovering, exploring and expanding their spiritual belief. This is done with non-judgment, acceptance and curiosity. The foundations of a solid coaching relationship. The process is one of questioning and listening as people open up to what it is they might believe and allow them space and opportunity to explore. It creates a safe place for people to play in their spiritual beliefs.
What was the most valuable thing you learned at ICA?
I realized that I want to support other in exploring the spirituality, so I began researching spiritual mentoring on line. I could not find anything that fit my needs. What did come up was ICA. It was one of the only coaching schools to offer a specialty in spiritual coaching. This right went along with how I wanted my life to move forward – developing my coaching skills and my spirituality. I was excited and impressed with the amount of practice coaching that ICA offered. If you choose to and were very quick to volunteer you could coach up to 10 times a week. There was also the requirements for being coached and clients. That was what I wanted from a coaching school the opportunity to practice and someone to give me feedback on the process. One of the most valuable things I learned at ICA was, your myself, how to conduct and finished a self learning process. Up untill this time this had been something I was not able to do!
