Research Paper By Jerry Rajamoney

1. Introduction:
Don’t get surprised or carried away by the title of the case study “The Un-Coachable Client”. I have chosen this particular case very specifically because even though this exercise did not end in a positive finish, it was a truly rewarding experience for me as a Coach.
I have applied many of the coaching techniques like perceptual positioning, visualization, emotion delayering applying my own power tool (Urgent Vs Important – The complete reference for the tool description is given in the reference section available at the end of this document) and my model “The GREAT Model”. It was a very rewarding experience for me as I can able to try whatever I learnt and know as of now in my coaching journey.
2. Client:
The Client, Mr. Raghav [Name Changed to hide his identity] is in his early thirties and working in information technology industry. He is being working in the current organization for the past 3 years. Coach and Raghav know each other for more than 3 years.
Both worked together in projects and they are good friends also. Raghav always share his concerns, challenges he faces in his work or in family with the Coach and seek his advice. Raghav takes advice from me for career growth and some personal issues too.
So, when Raghav came to know that his friend is doing his PCC he volunteer himself for a longer coaching period and talked in depth and more detail. This case study is the summary of the discussions they had (around 6 sessions) and the final outcome
3. Coaching summary:
To get the flow of the case study I prefer to group the narration based on each session. I have grouped and highlighted the discussions into key points to get more clarity. All the key discussion points are summarized and the action items taken by the client is being mentioned at the end of each section I have also carefully omitted the peripheral discussions which are not relevant for this case study
