Coaching questions:
- What is the next step?
- What wants to happen?
- What are the
- needed resources?
- How can you do that?
- What is the time line?
An action plan should be built and some issues like the following should be attended:
3.2.2. Conditioning a positive mental attitude
According to Jones (2005), in public speaking, a positive mental attitude is of tremendous help. Without a positive attitude of mind you will be helping to create fear, when it isn’t there.
To create a positive mental attitude it is very useful to use the whole body physiology. So, before a public speaking, it helps if the person lifts his head up, opens his chest, stretch his arms up and even jump, if possible. It also helps thinking that speaking in public can be truly an enjoyable experience if the mind is put into it. Giving small steps is the best way to grow and build confidence. Instead of going into the scaring zone right away, one can face smaller challenges and without noticing it, it’s entering into to scaring zone in a much lighter way.
3.3. Phase 3: Celebrate, learn and keep on doing it
After action is taken is really important, first to celebrate the goal’s accomplishment and then learn with the experience to improve future procedures. Through continuing facing the fear it will disappear until speaking in public will become part of a new enlarged comfort zone.
Do the thing you fear most and the death of fear is certain. (Mark Twain)

In risky situations, fear can be a very useful feeling. However, fear of public speaking is usually based in irrational perceptions that are essentially imaginary and not dangerous at all. So, what is there to change is the perception of the situation and the belief that is not supporting the desired actions and results.
In this paper it is shared an approach to manage fear of public speaking considering the following phases:
