Final advice from the professional coaches about traditional marketing and social media
Marsha Sanders:
My best advice for new coaches to build their business is to build a solid marketing strategy and using that to build a focused marketing plan. I think there are many similarities between marketing and coaching, actually — listening, building awareness leading to action, etc…. If coaches are trying to build their business using social media, they need to have a realistic time frame — it can take 2-3 years to build your online presence that way.
Rachel O’h-Uiginn:
Learn, learn, learn as much as you can. Do no be afraid to “make a mistake” on social but be open to revisiting and playing with your approach. But perhaps the BEST advice — your personal friends are not your clients, so that is why I’m an advocate of building a social media presence that is strictly your business.

Fans will expect it from you and that’s a great thing to deliver. Also, share other people’s work and resources because social media is about building community. You’d be amazed at how many new friends and exposure I’ve gotten because I share other peoples work and they do the same for me.
