Asking universal intelligence for guidance in our coaching session with our clients and believing that we can connect to the energy of our client can really bring insight into the coaching session way beyond what we might normally expect. It frees us up to think outside of the box and perhaps dig deeper with our clients than we would normally do.
Sometimes we may need to ask ourselves if we are connecting to universal intelligence or just letting our ego lead the session. Sunita Chhibar, an instructor at ICA, proposed that we ask these questions of ourselves. I would like to acknowledge and thank her for sharing her wisdom.
Taping the universal intelligence exercise.
Here is a short technique that can assist us to connect to the universal intelligence. We can work with one question at the time or sequentially with all the questions, one after another. Take at least 7 breaths before asking another question. Giving time for the answer to unfold. You can sort the order of the questions according to the relevance they have for you or even add questions of your own.
Retreat to a quiet space where you will not be disturbed. Mute your phone. If desired, play soft, gentle background music. Sit nice and tall on a comfortable chair with your palms facing up and place both feet flat on the ground.
Take 3 slow long deep breaths in and hold for a few seconds, then slowly exhale drifting out with your exhale as far as you can go. Connect with the Universal intelligence within and hold the intention that the answer to the question you asked will appear in your conscious mind. After the third breath continue breathing with a pace that is half as slow as that of the normal breathing pace. With each inhale ask yourself a question and wait for at least 7 breathe for the answer to appear. Continue asking as many questions as you want or your time permits.
This technique can help us tap into our own universal intelligence thus allowing us to become a better coach to our clients.
If we believe that the entire universe including every human being, animal, plant, insect and all other living and animate objects are energy, then it would make sense that we are all made up of the same substance and therefore we are all part of the universe and the universe is part of us. If we hold that belief, then we have at our disposal the abundance of the universe and can use that universal intelligence/energy in our coaching practice.
