What are our priorities?
In our coaching practice we must recognize time and priorities are our main FOCUS. When the client identifies their list of priorities, they need to prioritize them on the most important to the least important.
Once the client establishes their top 3 priorities to focus, they need to allocate their time slot to focus on their priorities. FOCUS become ineffective once we have more than 3 priorities, preferably one priority will leverage your 100% focus point in your life. Not easy but the clients must establish their priorities and time to focus. The lens achieves clarity on one focus point!

Earth
Understand Deeply:
First understand simple ideas deeply. Clear the clutter and identify what is really important. Be honest about what you know and don’t know. Then see what’s missing, identify the gaps and fill them in. Let go of bias, prejudice, and undeerlying belief. Understanding is the foundation for success. You have to ground to Earth and to be realistic.
During coaching sesson:
- Set the foundation. Connect, build trust, express confidentiality, and share any information on what will be happening in the time allotted. …
- Get clear on the specific issue (explore on one specific issue to focus on).
Fire
Learning:
Explore unforeseen opportunities and holes in your understanding. They also show you which way to turn next, and they ignite your imagination. Keep your Fire on for the Infinite Possibilities!
During coaching session:
- Set the goal / objective for the session in the time limit.
- Acknowledge! Enthuse! Validate! Celebrate (sprinkle this in throughout the session—it’s the fuel of it all).
Air
Questioning:
Constantly create question to clarify and extend your understanding. What is the right question? Working on wrong question can waste a lifetime. Ideas are in the Air – the right questions will bring them out and help you see connection that otherwise would have been invisible.
During coaching session:
- Coach it. Here’s where the coaching competencies come into play.
Begin with the end in mind (defined in #3) and coach to the desired outcome in the situation rather than digging deeply into the nature of the problem.
Here we are looking for the presence of solutions. It begins with understanding optimal outcomes as envisioned by the client and signals (internal & external to the client) that the optimal outcome has been attained.
