How many times do we hear people say
I need to do that
and having difficulty to move into action and do it. They are so concerned about it that it feels like their doing it again and again in their head without doing it in real life. So many people in the world feel oppressed by their feeling of obligation. They have to do this and it seems so heavy. People even get sick because of that weight they’re carrying over their shoulder. The weight of everything they have to do in their life.
This is the realm of obligation. In this paradigm, we feel like we don’t have the choice, we need to do this and that. We become victim of what we have to do and we can’t stop thinking about it. In this state of mind, you can pass a few days saying to yourself,
I need to get this work done, I have do it soon.
Then, finally, you do it just before the dead line, but you have passed your week thinking about it and walking around with that weight over your shoulder. This work took so much energy out of you because it was done out of a state of obligation. This way of seeing what we have to do is disempowering, it kills our feeling of freedom and has a lot of negative effect in our lives. Living in that state, you forget why you are doing what you do…
The worst thing in that story, is that most of the time, we are the one that creates this feeling of obligation without noticing it.
But then, what can we do about it?
The best way to get out of this obligation state is to create or get back to your vision. Without a vision, we have no direction, we live without a plan or purpose. Having a vision is knowing where we want to go and what we want to do. It brings a meaning to our action and get us out of the state of obligation. Our vision pulls us forward and gives us energy and motivation. When you are in that state, you choose to do what you have to do in order to fulfill your vision. There is no more
I need to that, I have to do this, instead you say to yourself I choose to do that, I will do it at this time and date.
Your vision gives you the power to choose, and you don’t have to torture yourself anymore with things you have to do. Once you choose to do something, and decide a time and date when you will do it, there is no more need to think about it and repeat to yourself that you have to do it. It is scheduled and you know you’re going to do it then. This opens a lot of space inside of you and allows you to think about other things and to live fully your life in the present moment.
Another benefit of having a vision, is that you become a creator of your life and it becomes easier to fulfill your dream and aspirations. Keeping your vision alive inside of you and sharing it to the world makes it become real. Your vision, if it is kept alive, will resonate in the outer world and attract the things you need to realize it (positive energy, people, opportunity, etc). If you have two guitars well tuned and close to each other and you play a string from one guitar, the same string from the other guitar will start to vibrate by itself. The same thing happens when your vision is alive, it will resonate with everything that is tuned with it in your life.
Living powerfully with your vision alive allows you to get out of the state of obligation.
So are you living in the state of Obligation or following your Vision?
How to create your vision?
There are many ways you can create a vision in your life. It is important that you allow yourself to dream big and create a vision that will inspire and motivate you. Once you have done that, you will see how much easier it is to get yourself out of this feeling of obligation.
Here are some steps to help you create your vision:
1. Knowing who you are
Your vision needs to fit you and correspond to who you are. It all starts from you so it is important to take the time to know yourself.
Here are some questions you can ask yourself at this step:
2. Finding what you want
Now that you know who you are, you can start thinking about what you want for yourself and your life. At this state you need to dream and transcend your boundaries.
Here are some examples of questions you can ask yourself at this point:
3. Write it down
Now that you have your vision you want to bring it into the world. I recommend that you write it down so you can come back to it anytime you want. There are different ways you can do that. A creative way would be to create a vision board with images and words that inspire you and represent your vision. You can let your creativity flow, which will help you connect with your subconscious mind. You can also take the medium that you want : drawing, photography, images from magazines, paint, etc. When your vision board is done, you can put it somewhere that you will see it everyday.
Another way could be to write your vision in your own journal. You can also simply write it down on a piece of paper or in your computer.
4. Keep it alive
The last step is to keep your vision alive inside of you and in the world. There are many ways you could do that.
Here are some ways to nourish your vision:
Working with a Coach
To create a vision and keep it alive you will need time and discipline. It is possible to do it yourself, but it is so much easier with the help of a coach.
A coach can ask you the good questions to help you know yourself and find out what you want. The coach can also use tools such as visualization to help you see your vision clearly and how you will feel once you realize your dream.
A coach offers you great feedback and an opportunity to see your blinds spot. A coach will hold that vision for you until it becomes deeply rooted inside of you.
Once you have your vision, the coach can help you create an action plan to realize it.
Doing this job with a coach will be fun and much easier.
I would be happy to do that work with you!
