Introduction
I believe every relationship’s foundation is built on trust. It’s important to develop trust over a period of time between each other if we intend to strengthen a relationship, this holds true in every coaching relationship.
Trust
The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them.
I choose trust as my power tool as I believe in a coaching relationship one needs to completely trust his client. Trust him/her that they are creative & resourceful to find their own solutions. Trust the client with whatever they share with us. Our job as a coach is to always trust the client and explore options that would be insightful and eventually get to the desired outcome. Trust also leads to developing a stronger relationship with the client in the long term.
Once the client explicitly trust us it’s easy to explore emotions, get deeper to understand any underlying beliefs and it makes the process much more simpler. Some of the facets that help the client trust a coach are:

On the flip side if the client feels the coach is judging him/her building trust would be very difficult or I would say even impossible. This could also lead to the client not opening up to his/her deeper thoughts & feelings during the coaching conversation.
