The physical connections between the quality of our thoughts and the interpretations of our life experiences are becoming increasingly apparent, not just to the researchers who test these hypotheses, but to the scientists who review and publish the data.
There exists an Internal World of our thoughts, feelings and beliefs and our External World of everything we can see, touch and feel; our physical reality of experiences and interactions.
The spiritual or natural Law of Correspondence tells us that our External World is reflection of our Inner World – as within, so without. This is an extraordinary principle and really says that our current reality is a mirror of what is going on inside of us.
Our External World mirrors our Inner World. Our lessons in life are presented to us in the mirror of life; our experience.
If we feel badly about ourselves, have low self esteem or constantly feel anger, resentment or loathing, then our outer, External World will be a place of turmoil.
If we have deeply buried anger, so much so we are unaware of it, we will most likely be attracting angry people into our life. While we are denying our anger, it will be mirrored back to us.
If we have strong fears around being abandoned we will possibly have people leaving us or withdrawing emotionally. If we are very critical and always beating ourselves up with our negative self talk, we may attract people who put us down, or even physically harm us. If we believe we are not supported, we will attract situations and experiences that reflect this ‘lack of support.’
When we feel loved, secure, safe and happy in our Inner World, we are more likely to be surrounded by people who love us and able to create a secure happy life to the extent to which we are secure and happy within.
If we feel peace within, we will have peace in our life. If everyone could find inner peace there would be world peace.
Inner Beliefs Affecting our External World
Beliefs are the foundation on which we make sense of the World. Beliefs generate thoughts and emotions, which create our inner reactions and external experiences.
Our beliefs determine how we respond or react to the external world and act as the blueprint for what we attract into our life.
Like a seed, the imprints in our mind bear fruits. What we sow is what we reap. If we are sowing seeds of hope, trust and success that is what we will reap.
The stronger and longer we hold a belief, the more likely it is to come true in our life.
By knowing this, we can change our life by changing our beliefs. We need to recognise the belief patterns which are limiting us and replace these with more empowering beliefs. If these new beliefs are held as true for us, for long enough, and our actions are in alignment with the new beliefs our external reality will change to reflect this.
This is the key to re-inventing our life
Most of our beliefs were internalised when we were too young to discern the truth or validity of the belief. Something was said, and was repeated so eventually we believed it to be true, or we witnessed an event which affected us deeply and we took on a belief around what happened. Many of us have deep sub- conscious beliefs that we are not even aware of. However, these beliefs are so strong they often hijack and sabotage our best efforts!
