“A” – Awareness
Awareness for client is created at two levels:
Level 1 – Coach ensures that client is aware about the ethics of coaching to create a ‘safe zone’
Level 2 – Coach creates awareness in client by being curious.
Creating awareness is all about asking questions that make client aware about her/his unique gifts, environment as well as beliefs that help / hamper the goals.
“R” – Results+Responsibility
Results – Establishing a clarity on desired results in the beginning of the discussion
Responsibility – Client takes responsibility for results by:
Reframing disabling beliefs
Establishing action plans
Establishing Support structures
“M” – Mindfulness
Along with humility, mindfulness is another important quality coach brings to the relationship.
Mindfulness is a state of being in the moment without being judgmental.
Clients gets into state of mindfulness with coach asking powerful questions which help client observe her/his own feelings, beliefs and reactions. This state of detachment helps client to be more aware about self without being judgmental.
“O” – Observant
State of mindfulness helps client to be more observant of patterns in own behavior that help or harm the journey towards goals.
Once these patterns are observed from a distance, it is easier for client to reframe the beliefs that act as hurdle in the journey.
“N” – iNtuition
When client gets in touch with her/his intuition, transformation happens.
Coaching conversation helps client to “see” the best solutions through visualization. These are always present with the client at a subconscious level. This helps to quickly shift the focus to future. Once client sees a desired result through visualization, options can be created through powerful questions.
“Y” – Yay! Experience
Throughout the conversation coach maintains a ‘light’ environment.
Client experiences a positive joyful feeling after going through a journey of clearly articulating goals, reframing unhelpful beliefs and creating an action plan.
Coach asks client to summarize the discussion and articulate a clear commitment that can be reviewed.
