A Coaching Model Created by Steven Pfeifer
(Life Coach, UNITED STATES)
My coaching practice focuses on supporting those who are overwhelmed and burdened with hectic and busy lives who also entertain many obligations and tasks that need to be done.
My coaching model is a four-step process that allows clients to direct their thoughts to one place and then prioritize, dream, and execute their plan.
Say everything
Tagging
Envisioning
Put into action
Step 1: Say Everything
In the initial step, I ask my clients one simple question.
Please state everything you have to do.
This question allows my clients to release all their built up tension and heaviness that comes along with the many tasks that have to be done. The intention of this question is to bring my clients into a more relaxed state of mind as we progress into Step 2.
Step 2: Tagging
As the process continues, we enter into the beginning stage of Tagging. In this phase clients will be asked which items and priorities need to be tagged. Tagging is a technique that is used to assign a ranking/rating of level of urgency for when particular responsibilities need to be done. Some examples of this could be dividing tasks into daily, weekly, monthly, or rainy day categories.
Step 3: Envisioning
In Step 3, we stop and close our eyes and envision ourselves finishing, completing, crossing off, and concluding all of our numerous tasks at hand. The ability to allow clients the space needed to imagine this sense of accomplishment serves as a catalyst and springboard to actualize the methods that are entailed in putting this whole process into action. Allowing clients to tap into the feelings and emotions of success can lead them into the final step of Putting Into Action.
Step 4: Putting Into Action
Ultimately, clients will reach this final step of putting it all into action. This last stage is taking the dream of Step 3 (Envisioning) and putting it into a concrete schedule. I will use realistic and manageable time tables to allow my clients to see a layout of their daily, weekly, etc. responsibilities. This will enable them to manage, regulate, and juggle their tagged obligations against their other commitments. This new outlook will grant clients the needed space and relief to accomplish all that they desire. This newfound awareness will empower clients to organize and systematically balance their overwhelmed, burdened, hectic schedules.
