1,2, Tree Coaching model
My coaching model is based and inspire on the image of a tree. It is a 5 parts coaching model each based on one part of the tree. Each step is very important and can be taken in any order during the coaching process since they are all important part of the whole model.
The seed: Finding the purpose
This step is all about finding the purpose of the person or the purpose of her projects, objectives and/or goals. It’s about finding the essence of what the person want to achieve in her life or in her coaching journey. Finding the purpose of one’s life or project liberate a lot of clarity and energy to move forward. It also help to make sure that the path one’s follow is aligned with is purpose, or that the project serve is purpose. Finding the purpose give the opportunity to see behind what we want to achieve and to make sure we move in the good direction.
The seed contains all the potential of the tree and give the first impulsion to grow. The purpose is giving life and meaning to what we’re doing or to what we want to do.
By questioning, the coach help you identify your purpose or the purpose of your goals and projects.
The Roots: Knowing and using the resources that are available to you
This step is about knowing yourself and your environment to see the potential you have that can help you reach your goal. It’s about knowing your strengths, your values, your belief and your passions and use them to move forward. It’s about building a self confidence and acknowledging yourself for the gift that you have. Being deeply rooted in yourself is being able to take energy in your inner resources to achieve your goal.
This step is also about seeing around you what could help you in your path. What outer resources could support you and help you towards your goal. It could take a lot of different form ; persons, material, money, community, spirituality, etc.
At this stage, the coach will help you identify and use your inner and outer resources.
The branches: Having a vision, a goal or an objective
This step is about knowing where you want to go, where you want to be. It’s about giving yourself a vision, a goal and/or an objective that are pulling you to action. This is where you get your direction, it’s your inspiration to move forward. Each step you take is to get there and to reach this.
