Want to get great at something? Get a coach!
I believe that with my nature (empathizing and caring for people) and work experience (having worked for 20 years in a multinational company as Senior Vice President), I would love to help people achieve their goals in the workplace. Being a Leadership coach suits me more.
I truly believe that a coach can help someone in reaching greater heights. I have personal experiences of being coached at my workplace and the impact that had on me. That was the time, I decided that I would be a certified coach one day! In my career, I have coached many team members of mine who are now doing very well in their career and that gives me immense pleasure.
With my experience of being a leader and working with great leaders, I feel the following qualities make a person a true leader, who people like to admire, follow and love to work for. “Leadership’s is not a title, it’s a behaviour. Live it!
Build a team so strong that you don’t know who the boss is.
I would like to start with a detailed conversation to understand the leader better and to build a connection with him/her. I would be asking my questions around the above qualities in my coaching sessions with the leaders unless they come for a specific concern.
By asking the right set of questions and hearing them completely, will have to bring out the current situation/stage of the client thereby making him/her aware of herself/himself. In many cases, I believe and have experienced that client themselves don’t realise what they lack and where they stand.
The next stage would be to write goals to achieve and actions thereafter. As a coach, I have to challenge my clients to take the right goals by making them feel confident and committed.
In my sessions, I would also like to use the following as appropriate
I want to end by saying:
I want to inspire people. I want someone to look up to me and say “because of you, I didn’t give up.
