A Coaching Model Created by Michelle Benning
(Performance Coach, UNITED STATES)
When attempting to analyze performance, with the help of the client and by asking powerful questions, the coach determines the Current State (where is the person now, what is their current level of performance). To determine the Gap – the coach needs to find out what the issue is that needs to be addressed. The Gap is the difference between the client’s Current State and their Desired State (where they want or need to be).
After identifying the Gap, the next step is to design the Intervention (solutions/options). This is where the coach helps the client arrive at what can be done to close or address the Gap. Following are the specific dates of Action the client will attach to the Intervention(s) they design.
