A Coaching Model Created by Melinda Stettler
(Leadership Coach, Hungary)
My model is about continuous change, which is always characterized in life. During this continuous change, each of us participates in the coaching situation with his current state (feelings, energy, and thoughts) and his current relation with his problem. The model shows WHERE and HOW the client can get through coaching, from their current situation with his Genius In him.
0) Basic situation – getting energy:
I see often that people have accepted their life as unchangeable. Typical phrases:
What can I do differently? I have to bring the money home. or There is nothing to do, I have to pay my loan to the bank.
True, often these burdens cannot be reduced. The bigger problem is if they don’t have the energy to talk about these pressing issues openly and in a creative way. Instead they complain indignantly and sadly.
It is easy to coach those who has already noticed the problem and recognized that the change is in their hands. But most review themselves as failed persons or believe that this is the most they deserve – although in many cases they seem to be successful people from the outside. If the coaching helps them to have a moment of relief in their life, they could have a space for relaxation and peace. The man, who is able to gather energy from peaceful moments, can change. This experience would give faith in oneself.

1) Finding your own way:
Those who know their problems, are open to talk about it and listen to the coach’s question are ready for a different kind of work with the coach. They can find their own ways and answers through coaching.
Tools:
The people who can define his own solution has belief in himself and has some independence. This independency can differ but he has some experiences about this independency therefore he knows the difference between the 2 ways:
