A Coaching Model Created by Lynda French
(Executive Coach, UNITED STATES)
Envision the first time you went to the eye doctor when you felt that you were not seeing as well as you should. The eye doctor went through a series of various lenses to find your correct vision. After finding the correct prescription for your eyes and putting you in your glasses for the first time, wasn’t it amazing that you were getting by for so long with poor vision?
That feeling that we have with putting on eyewear for the first time is very similar to what a coach can do. Just as an eye doctor takes you through the process of asking you a series of questions to discover what test lenses you are able to see clearer in, an experienced coach can assist in a similar way. A client of mine once said to me,
Lynda, all this time I’ve been running my business not really noticing that I’ve lost my vision in it. It’s like you gave me a pair of glasses that I never knew I needed!
The E.Y.E.S. Model will take you through a four step process to help you receive a clearer vision of what you are looking for:

This stage will assist in moving through the process of identifying the barriers that have kept you from reaching your goals.
Explore Your Choices
What can you do to accomplish your newly defined goals? What would keep you from accomplishing these goals? After identifying the possible barriers from Your Reality stage, what can you do to remove them? Are there other options to explore? Start Your Action Plan
