From the first Discovery Session, a client and coach meet and freely talk.
A coach provides assurance that by a process of deep listening, powerful questions and non judgmental support, the client is in a safe space….most importantly it is the client’s time to be heard.
A coach is bound by ethical and professional standards. No matter what. . . A coach is there for the client, always sensitive to the client’s needs.
Each session with the client will flow freely like the river and yet will be held within the banks.
A coach will ask the client what issue the client would like to deal with at the outset of each session.
A coach will engage the client in conversation hopefully revealing a deeper sense of self.
As trust and intimacy grows, the client will often delve into areas where they may never have gone before or maybe never knew existed within themselves.
Here is a scenario:
Session after session Elizabeth talked about her job and how stressed she was. The coach would listen to her and they would chalk out a plan to help lighten her work day… from talking to her boss and coworkers, to changing her shift.
