Educate “SELF” About The Direction And Steps Needed From Current Reality In Order To Achieve Goal.
At this point we need to do our ground work to assess “How do I get there from here?” This is a research phase. There may be necessary training for your future goal and this should be investigated before embarking on the journey. Life style changes may need to be implemented and the implications of this explored and acknowledged. Learning and personality styles should be looked into and a course of action planned.
Accept Responsibility & Contract With “SELF” To Move In To Action
No one can make our reality ours, except us. Even though a coach is there to help support the process, we have to accept the responsibility of our own movement forward. Once the steps have been thought through it is time to go beyond the “contract for coaching” and “Contract with Self”. With your coach beside you, discover your individual way of making the contract real and tangible. Become responsible to yourself. Once again, breathing into this space can be an effective way of creatively discovering your self-contract tool.
Take Training If Needed & Put Into Place The Tools For Success. Take Action!
Having already explored the tools/training needed to succeed, this is where all of the research grounds into reality and action. Here we implement the tools/training/action for your specific journey. For example:
Heads Up! Watch Out For Pitfalls Or Self-Sabotage! How Will You Handle Them?
Most of us have self-limiting beliefs systems and damaging self-talk that pop up during our process of moving forward. When limiting beliefs and negative self-talk rear up to take control, it is necessary to once again “breathe” and find ways to reframe those thoughts and perspectives on what we think we are capable of, and deserving of, that keep us confined in our narrow “scope”. Some of us also have other people around us who are keeping us from achieving our potential and dreams.
It can be devastating to us when these things come up without our radar in position. They can take us by surprise and prevent us from moving forward. This is often a place of fear and doubt, both very powerful and constricting emotions. Here we explore the pitfalls that we are familiar with about ourselves and those things that we know (as well as some new solutions) that can help us climb out of them. This way when the doubt/fear moves in we are in a better position to deal with and transform them. Having a “rescue plan” in place in case we are blindsided is essential! Possible questions to ask here are:
Enjoy & Celebrate!
Reward, reward, reward! Even baby steps should be rewarded! Feel good about the whole process; it is after all, all about the journey! Commit to a way of rewarding yourself for each step completed; a special walk, going dancing (even if it’s in your living room by yourself), a piece of chocolate, a long luxurious soak, a conversation with a special friend. Find your celebration for a job well done and make sure that you don’t pass it over! Indulge in feeling good about your accomplishments, its great incentive to keep going. Remind yourself that life is joyous! Blessings and Gratitude towards yourself, those around you, and your journey will carry you through many a hard time, so be generous in dolling them out!
How is the Breathe Model utilized?
The Breathe Model works as a process of steps bringing vision into reality and can be started from wherever you are in your present situation. For instance, we may start from the “Breathe” step to create a vision. However, perhaps a vision is already in place and needs some grounding through research in the “Educate Self” step to continue. Maybe all of the work is already done but there is a limiting belief system creating an obstacle and we jump to the “Heads Up!” step to proceed.
One step can also be used in any other step of the model to help it move forward. For example, “Breathe” may be brought into the “Educate Self” stage to envision the whole, or, an alternative path to what may not be a proper fit for schooling/training. There may need to be a bit of “Educate Self” in the “Breathe” step if a vision is not forming. Maybe “Heads Up!” is necessary in the “Enjoy & Celebrate” step if rewarding one’s self is felt to be unnatural or bad. So, each step can include elements of other steps if necessary throughout the process.
This is your vision and your process but with your willingness I would be honored to accompany you through the process of breathing your way to your ultimate goals!
