A Coaching Model Created by Jessica Kosine
(Life Coach, UNITED STATES)
As a life purpose and self-love coach, it is my belief that fulfilment and happiness begin at the core. In order to live a life of purpose, one must first learn how to love themselves, so they can find their purpose, and then take action steps towards living their life purpose.
So often, I meet clients who are stuck in life, living life to make other people happy, going through the motions, are disconnected from their truth, at a crossroads, and they have one of two options: to keep going through the motions, unhappy and unfulfilled or change and commit to personal development so they can be happy and fulfilled. Therefore, the goal of my coaching model is to empower and guide clients into their truth so they can find their purpose and live it while learning how to love themselves.
Thunderstorms (Being Stuck)
Most often, it takes a pretty big sign in life in order to have the realization that something needs to change. This thunderstorm may present itself as a bad relationship, a job they dread going to, mistreatment or disrespect from others, an overall feeling of dissatisfaction with the way their life has turned out, relying too much on drinking, food, sex, television, or social media for the fulfilment, etc. Throughout my journey as a coach, I’ve noticed that pain is the ultimate motivator that is the necessary catalyst for change. Therefore, when a client has that moment of clarity that they can’t ignore the thunderstorm hovering over their life and their current journey is too painful to continue, they come to a crossroads.
Rain Storms (Crossroads)
A crossroads is a tough moment for a client to face. The awareness that it is pouring rain in their life shows them that they need to make a change or they will continue to stay in the dark. This is where the decision to change happens, a commitment to personal development is inevitable and a client decides to do the work on themselves, taking a new road in life to get out of the rain. There is great news about the rain. The rain comes in and washes away the dirt that is blocking them from seeing their own truth and gives the client a new awareness and a renewed sense of hope as they journey towards clear skies.
Pathway to Clear Skies (The Work/Self-Love)
Doing the work is a process of self-discovery, where the client begins to have a new awareness and is able to see the behaviours and situations in life that are no longer serving them. This step is such an important and involved step because it begins to reveal the true nature of the client in order for them to see themselves more clearly. The storms have diminished, the rain has washed away the gunk and who emerges in this process is a client who is clear about who they are and what they want out of life. Once the client has an opportunity to see more clearly, life begins to transition into a new direction where the client is more at peace, grounded, happier and fulfilled. This step is but a mere beginning, yes the clouds have cleared, but now it is time for the client to step out into the sun and walk in their truth. Action and more action comes next.
Journey to the Sunlight (Action)
After a client has discovered who they are and what they want out of life, they can set goals, and they can begin taking action towards those goals. During this process, the client will find who they are and what they want and begin taking action, but then find themselves up against some clouds (obstacles) which prevent the client from stepping into the sunlight. However, the sunlight is there, the client just needs to take a deeper look as to what those obstacles are trying to teach them so they can find a new action to take in order to get to their goal (sunlight).
Living in the Sunlight (Purpose)
After a client has “weathered the storm” by learning how to love themselves and find their purpose, the client is now living in the sunlight, achieving goals, living out their purpose, happy and fulfilled.
After going through the entire process, a client now has the experience and awareness to navigate the different phases of the storm. If a new “thunderstorm” arises in their lives, a client is now empowered and equipped with tools from this coaching model to get back into the sunlight.
