A Coaching Model Created by Gemma Gilbert
(Business Coach, UNITED KINGDOM)
Cash flow is the lifeblood of any business. My coaching model is profit-centric and focuses on helping the client create a business that feels aligned and easy.
Purpose & Potential
The first step to creating an aligned business is to help your client clarify the purpose of their business – their big why.
Starting and growing a business can be filled with many challenges. When we step into our business purpose, we can meet these challenges inflow, confident that we are on the right path.
“What do you ultimately want?” can be a powerful question here.
The second stage is to help the client uncover their potential. It is easy to slip into a scarcity mindset from the outset of building a business. ‘I just need to earn £x’, ‘£x amount would allow me to cover my bills’, ‘I’d be happy with just £x amount a month’.
By uncovering your client’s potential, they can begin to create their own vision for success. The client begins to imagine what could be.
Here we refer to both the potential in their business and the potential to be the best version of themselves – the person they need to become to achieve their business goals.
Resistance
The coach helps the client uncover limiting beliefs, actions, and behaviors which could be holding them back from taking bold action. In growing a business, many steps may feel out of the client’s comfort zone. Self-awareness of resistance is critical to continue the momentum and take action in the face of doubt.
Opportunity
Building a business is unique to each person. There will be many different paths the client could take to achieve their goal. The coach supports the client to become self-aware of the options available and opportunities that arise. Opportunities can often arise out of resistance and in this space, inspired action aligned to intuition can help propel the client forward.
Flow
Flow refers to the state you achieve when you are doing things that feel truly aligned. The coach can help the client achieve flow by helping them tap into their unique strengths and abilities. By understanding their strengths and values, and remaining connected to their purpose, the client can act in line with their intuition and take inspired bold action. Flow is not the absence of resistance, but the ability to be present and move forward with full acceptance and responsibility of whatever is.
Invest
Investing can take two forms – internal and external. When the client internally invests, they commit to their business goal and direction and accept no other path other than achieving this vision. The coach supports the client to develop unwavering self-belief, constantly bringing them back to their potential.
To achieve their big hairy business goals, external investment is also critical. This could come in the form of an accountability partner or a financial investment in a coach or consultant with specific expertise to support them to grow their business.
Take Aligned Action
Bold, massive action is crucial to the client achieving their business vision. Working through the above steps supports the client to stay in consistent action which ultimately will move them closer to their goal.
By following the PROFIT model, the coach can support the client in growing a profitable, sustainable, and enjoyable business.
