A Coaching Model Created by Elizabeth Sabet
(Life Coaching, UNITED STATES)
The SpiritPath Coaching Model © is designed to help clients identity goals and the internal and external blocks to their attainment. This helps the client develop new awareness relating to their challenges and also helps them determine which of their gifts, talents, insights, passion, and experience can be applied to the current situation to create a more harmonious, and satisfactory life experience.
Internal and external obstacles and delays will also be identified. A combination of Cognitive Behavior Coaching, Guided Visualization, and Mindfulness Practices, as well as other modalities may be utilized in any given session as the client is interested.
Spirit
At the beginning of the coaching process we move into discovery and Identification designed to create new awareness for the client. The following vein of questions are applied at this time:
- What is fueling your desire for the changes or goals you are wanting to accomplish?
- What are the internal and external blocks that are keeping you from taking meaningful action?
- What are the underlying beliefs and emotional, mental, physical, or societal structures upholding the issue?
- What is serving the client?
- What is not serving the client?
- Is there a shadow associated with this issue?
- Is it light or dark?
- How is the shadow interacting with the issue at hand and what does that mean to them?,
- What is true for them now?
Values and strength assessments are done during this time to help the client identify their special strengths and areas for improvement. This helps guide the client’s decisions for exploration and action as the sessions move forward.
Storming
During this stage the client is given opportunities to brainstorm processes and structures to help resolve any internal and external conflicts, explore and contemplate different tools, skills, and actions they may want to utilize. Appreciative Inquiry techniques are used during this stage of the coaching relationship. The coach will help the client remain positive and secure during the process by affirming their new understanding and developing skills. The vein of questions utilized at this time are designed to help the client reflect on past performance, current desires, and to develop success measurements:
- What have you tried that has and has not worked in the past?
- What is the best possible outcome?
- What are some ways you would like to try and change this situation?
- How do you see yourself?
- What do you want to change?
- What do you want to stay the same?
- How would you like to be supported?
- How will you know you have succeeded?
Forming
During this stage of the coaching process, the coach helps the client establish clear objectives and helps the client identify and establish the support system necessary to maximize their efforts and ensure success. The vein of questions during this phase are geared to help the client decide on the action and/or exploration steps:
- What
- When
- How
The coach will help the client prioritize action and exploration steps and ask the client how they would like to be held accountable and what support the coach can provide for them during this process as well as identifying outside sources of support.
Evaluation
During this stage of the coaching process the coach will help the client evaluate their actions and/or explorations to help them find out what they have learned through the process, identify successes and setbacks, and help them evaluate what comes next. The vein of questions at this time revolve around discovery:
- Have the action steps brought you closer to obtaining your goal?
- What have you learned about the situation, yourself, and others?
- What new perspectives do you have?
- Are there any actions that you would like to modify or try something new to achieve a different result?
- What do you want to do now?
Integration
During this stage of the coaching process the coach will help the client identify any areas of their life they would like to integrate the new strengths and skills into. The vein of questions at this time allow the client to reflect on other areas of his/her life:
- How can these new skills help me excel in my finances, career, relationships, health, etc.?
- Is there a grounded yet expanded flow in all the important areas of my life?
Manifestation
During this stage of the coaching process the coach helps the client solidify awareness of the new insights, talents, strengths, behaviors, and goals they have manifested during this process. The coach will then help the client determine if there are any new areas of their life they have decided to move forward on based on the accomplished goals they have attained. Begin the process again if desired.
