Coaching Model by Dayal
Upon completion of the course and conducting a number of coaching sessions as well as being coached by couple of Coaches, I was able to observe some of the challenges that Clients will be facing and felt that this will be a great model to use in our pursuit to produce sustainable results for Clients as they move forward.
HABiD™
I call this model the HABiD™ model:
The major challenge with most of us in pursuit of a goal is to convert the desired actions into a goal. Based on the Goals that they plan to achieve, the following questions will be asked:
- What kind of Habit style will they need to have if they were to ensure so that they can realise their goals.
- To make this a Habit, what type of actions are required?
- How much do they believe in this action that will realise that Habit and ultimately the Goal
- How much time and resources are needed to Invest and willing to Invest
- Finally, the longest word in this model which most people find it the biggest challenge among all is the Discipline
Being able to realise that all of these will help them in the pursuit of their goals, will ultimately help them when they define the above 5.
Rationale behind the HABiD™ model
Almost every individual wants to move forward in their lives. However, most of them have not been able to move forward. Some of them even move backwards without realizing while others are likely to be in the same place as they started off.
Having seen the challenges that a number of Clients are facing including myself during my self-reflection of being coached, I realised that one of the biggest challenges in moving forward has finally been brought down to the discipline.
Upon deeper analysis, everybody understands that just by setting goals they are not going to get there. There are many other considerations that they need to look into before they are able to turn the goals into a success.
To support the discipline to succeed, we need to work backwards to see every component of the HABiD™ being addressed to really go deeper into the Client to see their beliefs and how they are going to invest the time genuinely with intensity. This will boil down to the fact of the actions being taken to turn all of these into a habitual routine.
As such, once you have identified a Goal, you will see what are the Habits needed. For it to become a Habit, one needs to take the RIGHT action. Having identified the actions, one must believe in them and having that belief, the natural instincts to invest the time comes into place. When these are all aligned, the discipline perspective comes more naturally.
This is the HABiD™ model is prepared by Dayal Krishnan for his Coaching.
