A Coaching Model Created by Amal Massis
(Life Coach, PALESTINE)
Introduction
Can’t be happier and prouder of having my name as my model.
My name is Amal and Amal in Arabic means HOPE, I am a strong believer that there is hope for each person to live a better life full of success and happiness, and this can be done by having the proper mindset. Your mindset and belief system affect everything in your life from what you think and feel to how you act and react to the world around you.
In order to achieve your goals, your mindset needs to match your aspirations, otherwise, it might be holding you back from getting where you want to be.
Who I’m in coaching? the answer is simple I’m the hope I’m Amal.
A: Awareness
When a client comes to coaching to discover self – an awareness that will lead them to discover the answer that will move them forward to their goal. Coaching provides a safe, supportive environment that allows awareness to emerge. As their awareness increases, they can move forward to finding the solution. Self-awareness involves being aware of different aspects of the self, including traits, behaviours, and feelings. It plays a critical role in how we understand ourselves and how we relate to others and the world, be it personally or professionally.
M: Managing your Thoughts, Feelings, Actions and Results
I came up with this part of my model to manage the cycle that starts with a thought and ends with a result.
Every time we thought something we had a feeling associated with that thought. And the most powerful sub-question—one that is so beneficial to use over and over—is, “How do you feel when you think that thought?” And this leads me out of the idea that the thing happening in the world (the circumstance) was causing my feelings while the fact is that the thought about the circumstances causing my feelings. I did The Work for quite a while and enjoyed the relief it gave me and wanted to be part of my model.
Basically the process of managing Thoughts, Feelings, Actions and results are based on the following truths:
Here are the reasons to use this model daily:
A: Ability To transform
During the coaching sessions, the client will get to the point where will gradually be transformed in a new person that will experience what they want, it could be more in their life, like be more effective or satisfied at work or new skills to help navigate life’s changes. They could be more peace of mind, more security, more impact in their work.
And sometimes they would be transformed to be a person that needs less of life and I mean like less confusion, less stress, less financial pressure. In general, I really hope my clients will get a better quality of life—more fulfillment, better balance—or a different process for accomplishing their life desires.
L: Learning
The outcome of the work that the client and coach do together is both action and learning. These two forces, action and learning, combine to create change. The other force at work in the human change process is learning. Learning is not simply a by-product of action; it is an equal and complementary force. Learning generates new resourcefulness, expanded possibilities, and stronger muscles for a change.
Coaching is not just about getting things done; it is just as importantly about continuing to learn, especially to learn how the action is or is not contributing to the core principles. This connection between action and learning and the core principles is key
