Impostor syndrome was introduced in 1978 by psychologists Pauline Rose Clance and Suzanne Imes. The study focused on ambitious and high-achieving women. Business leaders like Sheryl Sandberg (Facebook COO), Michelle Obama (former first lady), and Sonia Sotomayor (Supreme Court justice) have all admitted to owning it.
