This power tool’s goal is to share suggestions for how to help a client go from feeling Disconnected vs. Connected. Feelings of loneliness and isolation are increasing at this time when people have been subjected to lockdowns and other restrictions on their daily activities. Disconnection, however, is not simply a result of lockdowns; it can occur at any time for a variety of reasons throughout various life stages. Feeling distant can be extremely detrimental to a person’s life and professional experience, regardless of the cause. Depression or other more serious mental health conditions can result from unresolved disconnection. This disconnecting may happen abruptly in response to one’s current circumstances or gradually as overwhelming outside forces take over.
