A client’s perspective can be changed from one that is disempowering to one that gives them the ability to break free and advance with the use of the many “Getting vs. Giving” power tools offered by the FlipIt Framework. The four-step process for change starts by illuminating the issue, challenge, or problem; then it asks the client to reflect on how it feels to be in the problem; considers the client’s current perspective, which keeps them stuck or prevents them from moving forward; and finally, it “flips it” to an opposing, more potent, and substitute perspective, which enables a client to consider alternative approaches to solving the original challenge. The FlipIt process softly nudges client out of a mindset that hinders solutions from emerging while simultaneously powerfully challenging any perceived facts a client may have.
