A Coaching Model By Paul Crabtree
Positive Attitude Coach, UNITED KINGDOM
The 5M coaching model is based on human motivation and behavior change, specifically the concept of flow developed by Hungarian psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. This model also includes a strong journaling and documenting style that keeps the client accountable and the process in check. It also has a foundation in cognitive behavioral therapy and positive psychology, especially since it aims to combat the self-talk brought on by cognitive distortions. As with all coaching methods, it supports clients in the ways they want to change by empowering choice and raising awareness. The Goldilocks zone of a suitable challenge to achieve goals and feel good about oneself is the foundation of the 5M coaching model, which takes a deep dive into the “who” of the individual.
