Thanksgiving is a North American tradition, celebrated in Canada on the second Monday in October and in America on the fourth Thursday in November. This year we have a very special twist with Hannuka crossing over Thanksgiving, giving rise to the term “Thanksgivukkah” This article on the BBC News website is a great read. Evidently the concept has gone ‘social’, there is a hashtag (of course), a facebook page, youtube videos and even ideas for mash-up recipes!
But fun and games aside, for us here at ICA Thanksgiving is a reminder of GRATITUDE. It is a time to stop and refelct on all the things you are grateful about in your life, no matter where you come from.
This year we decided to share something personal. We are sharing a video made by staff at International Coach Academy for my 50th birthday a couple of weeks ago.
I must say it took a bit of convincing on my part to share this video since it is full of people saying wonderful things about me [blush] but I moved past that because this video is way more than a birthday message, it is an amazing depiction of togetherness, caring, sharing and gratitude! We now have 43 people working at ICA and every single day I feel grateful for the opportunity to be amongst them. They are some of the most passionate, dedicated and caring people I know – and together we really do believe that through coaching we can make a significant impact on the world.
So I invite you to share the things that YOU are grateful for… and I wish you (no matter where you are) a Happy Thanksgiving
