Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? By Marianne Williamson
Imagine your self, standing in line for a roller coaster. You can feel your heart pumping, your palms sweating, you hear your self, talking you out of getting on this ride. Its too high, it rolls in the air way too many times, what if it falls? What if it crashes? What if you get suspended in mid air? Too many what ifs and too many questions. This is the question you should be asking yourself: Will you face your fear and get on the ride? Or will you turn around, get out of the line and away from the ride?
This same scenario comes up in different forms in all aspects of our lives, from careers to relationships. The situation is different, but the feelings are very much the same. One thing to remember is, you always have a choice. Your choice is, will you conquer your fear? Or will you let your fear conquer you?
What Is Confidence?
To move forward we will have to define what confidence is, what is means to people, and how it manifests it self. In other words how can you define your self or someone else as being confident?
The word confidence comes from the Latin language, and it means to ‘put one’s trust in someone’. In this case, this some one has to be you! You put trust in your self that you will do well at work, in a relationship, on a project. Whatever it is, you will be
Confident that you will do well period. You can beat whatever it is that your self, your gremlin, or you inner voice is telling you you can not achieve, get to or do.
When you are confident, you exude a certain aura, you are charismatic, comfortable in your own skin, hypnotic, appealing and even alluring. We as people, are always drawn and tugged toward others who are confident and self assured, not because they possess some magical powers, or are more attractive, or are blessed with exceptional features. No, we are pulled towards them because they instill in us and those around them a feeling of security, a feeling that whatever happens, they are able to take the reins and move forward, that you can rely on them, more, you can depend on them.
Confidence is hypnotic, its inviting, its reassuring. You can point to any world leader or public figure, and whether you agree with them or not does not matter; however one thing is definitely clear in them all. They are all confident. Confident in themselves, confident in their abilities and confident in their ideas.
What is Fear?
The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure
Sven Goran Erikson
Fear is an unpleasant or uncomfortable feeling you get that something bad is going to happen. It is that feeling that stops you from moving forward in your life. Fear is what stops you in your tracks, what puts you down It is that voice in you that tells you that you can not do something, that you are not worth it, that you are a failure.
