Many Times, we are trying so hard to succeed in everything be good at work, eat less and keep our figure, be a good wife or husband, be a good daughter, good parent and the list goes on. So, we reach up to a point where we can cope anymore and nothing works but we do try hard to make them work. Then desperation, depression stress comes along.
Today 8 years ago I got divorced and my life changed tremendously. Few months later I changed job and decided to start my own business. It was a year full of changes, divorce, work and a new house. My children were still too young and I needed to do my best so I would be a great mother, a great dad, set up the business and have all finance under control.
It was a chaos and on the top of that I wasn’t feeling good as a woman. I was feeling alone and I was wondering why I can’t find a partner to spent nice time with and this had as result me feeling depress, ugly and fat.
After 8 years and we come to the day of today of 2015, I have observed and realized that the reason that my life was chaos, the reason that I couldn’t find anyone it was that me EMOTIONALLY I was incapable of feel anything or do anything. I was NO EMOTIONALLY FIT.
My life changed when I started to be more caring and loving towards myself. When I realize that I am unique and that it is not enough just to have a good healthy diet plan to keep your figure, to buy expensive clothes, have a great job, a great family. The point is to have balance and in order to do that is to have emotional fitness. Emotional fitness is to be aware of our emotions, how we manage our emotions, understand them and embrace them. Then we will be able to embrace any change that might occur in our life. Recognize our inner strength and use it to achieve whatever we want.
Have you observed what is that drive most of people? When people are most decisive? They were more decisive, when they had to face a serious health problem.
When the doctor said to me last year that I will never run and feel strong my body again at the age of 37, then what I felt was a chill through my bones so I said decisively “We will see about that, this is not my fade” Now here I am after a year, I am running 6 km and I will participate in a local Marathon. Emotion drive of survival healthy and feeling strong was my inner strength and motive.
So, by being EMOTIONALLY FIT means that our whole life is in balance. Let’s visualize our emotions and give them the meaning that they deserve. Visualize your emotional fitness and go for it. I am sure we all have a board for our daily nutrition and gym plan, what about our emotional fitness plan?
This is my power tool where we can realize that it is all about combination of variables which will
bring balance and Fitness to our lives. Through questions like:
- What drives you?
- How are you feeling when you speak about that?
- How that does serves you?
- How we describe our emotions?
- What colors does our emotion have?
- What emotions are you experiencing?
- How would you like to apply then in your life?
