Often my clients ask “What is wrong with me?”, “Why is this so difficult?” or “Why am I not getting it right”? They sincerely question why or how they are misunderstood as they truly wish to do only good onto others, and are often surprised with the feedback they get or the results of life choices they make that take them aback. The ME model guides people to understand how they relate to others and thus the outcome they experience and in part created. Based on this level of understanding ME, in relation to WE and how that impacts on WORK (personal or professional outcome) the ME (Morum Excellentiam Model) leads people to insight as to how they need to tap into the Tool of ME to navigate their way forward.
The ME (Morum Excellentiam translated as behavior excellence) model advocates that there is nothing wrong with ME. The model depicts the juxtapose between intention (underneath the water mark of the Ice berg) and the expression (above the watermark) people often experience…the treacherous land between what was intended and what manifests. The Ice berg is an analogy that represents a person in the manner that much of the Ice berg lies hidden underneath the watermark and is therefore misjudged. People in the same manner only reveal their behavior, not their real person, their beliefs, intention, background, their entire frame of reference which is buried underneath the watermark and only a glimpse thereof is offered to the world expressed as behavior which entails word choice and body language. The matter becomes complex if we acknowledge John C Maxwells’ comments that we judge others based on their behavior (observerable word choice and body language above the water mark), however we wish to be judged based on our intentions (frame of reference and intent underneath the watermark).
