ROI of Executive Coaching
To address this question of return on investment for coaching in executive and corporate situations, I am going to turn to a recent study that was done of one hundred executives from Fortune 1000 companies. The coaching lasted between six months to a year and included 2 different methodologies. First and foremost, they looked at skills and behavioral changes and secondly, they looked at more of a performance or a growth standard: looking at both at long-term sustainability and long-term changes. The highlight from the study showed that there was a six times return of investment for the coaching services that were provided to these executives. They broke it down into a few different areas where they saw an increase: productivity, quality, organizational strength, increased customer service and shareholder value.
So, looking all the way through the companies from the executives down to those that might be working in customer service; they saw an increase just from the coaching alone. These companies had fewer customer complaints and those executives who received the coaching were more likely to stay long term with the company. 75% of these executives reported better working relationships, not only with their direct supervisors, but within the entire organization.
So, even though only one person from this company received coaching, you can see the long lasting effects within the organization as whole.
