Stuck vs. Light On! Time to Get Unstuck and Discover Your More Fulfilling Life Is Now
This Power Tool was created to encourage people to get unstuck and discover more fulfilling life taking responsibility for themselves.
What Does Being Stuck Mean?
Stuck means being trapped in something. Your self-talk is full of thoughts that you are unable to change or get away from.
It’s not uncommon to feel stuck. This might be environmental, such as in your workplace, your family, your future, or just life in general. Or it could be a stage in life you are feeling you can’t move from such as mid-life, retirement, marriage breakups, a change of career, or even life during a pandemic.
Examples of where someone might feel stuck and not able to move forward would be:
- improve your relationship or your health,
- have a better work-life balance,
- get a new job, start a new career or a new business,
- implement some new habits, or
- transform your entire life.
It might be that you have the intent to create change, but you don’t have the motivation.
You might be feeling:
- overwhelmed with your day-to-day juggling,
- stressed, frustrated,
- your battery is empty,
- life could be better or different,
- negative self-talk and self-judgment are making you unfulfilled and stagnant.
When getting stuck, the simplest option can be to just wait for change to happen. This is a passive approach that might be less daunting, but it’s also less likely to create change. Instead, by taking action we are actively creating and participating in the change we want to make. Change doesn’t happen to us, and you can’t be stuck and in motion at the same time.

LIGHT ON! Discovering Ways to Get Unstuck
There are plenty of ways that may help you get unstuck and discover a more fulfilling, meaningful, and joyful life. Here are some approaches that you can use:
DISCOVER
Identify your heart’s desires, explore your purpose, gain clarity, and understand what needs to be different in your life.
- Take time for reflection to get clarity.
Give yourself space to clear your head. Schedule an appointment in your calendar to re-evaluate your situation. Focus on present issues and commit to your goals. Journaling can help you to get your thoughts on paper and see your situation more clearly. - Do a deep dive into your Heart’s desires to identify what you want.
If something is difficult, explore how and what beliefs, thoughts, or ideas got you to this point in time. There is a lot of power in being honest about why we do things the way we do. This is the key to living a fulfilling life. - Create awareness around what needs to be different in your life.
Think about what it is that needs to be different in your life. Explore your current reality and what the life you desire could look like. Explore your deepest needs. What is driving you? What are you hoping to achieve? What have you tried before? What has and hasn’t worked? How will you know you achieved your goal? - Explore your purpose.
Your life purpose is what drives you, what makes you feel fully alive, and what makes you feel content. To determine what your life purpose is you could ask yourself the following questions:
- What makes me happy?
- What were my favorite things to do in the past?
- What are my favorite things to do now?
- When do I enjoy myself the most or become so committed to something that I lose track of time?
- Who inspires me the most, and why?
- What makes me feel good about myself?
- What am I good at?

DECIDE
Evaluate your current position and define what conditions need to be fulfilled to succeed and elevate to your greatest potential.
- Let go of the past.
Listen to the stories in your head. Are you thinking about events that happened in the past? Are you unable to forgive yourself for the mistakes you made? Are you blaming yourself or others for things that did not turn out the way you hoped? Ask yourself why you are stuck on these memories, and what you can do to live with them, accept them, and move forward. You can’t change the past, but you can choose to find peace. Forgiving yourself or others is a way to let go and move forward. - Work on your Mindset.
It’s your perspective, your Mindset, that determines your experience in life, not your circumstances. We cannot always change our circumstances, but we can choose to change our perspective at any time by working on our Mindset. By changing the way we see something and reframing our perspective, everything can look different. This awareness-creating shift in consciousness can help you see things in a whole new way and can lead to greater self-empowerment.
- Explore new opportunities developing a new perspective in thinking
A small thought can create a huge Mindset shift which in turn can change your whole life. A new perspective in thinking opens new opportunities to explore various options available for your transition from your current state to your desired experience.
